The many islands of the Indonesian archipelago include many different peoples and opportunities for exploration. As a country, Indonesia is huge, having more than 700 islands and several seas within its boundaries. This map shows everything the country has to offer on one sheet, and is an excellent overview of a large and complex country. One of the best attributes of this map is the ferry service that joins disparate islands together. This also enables the traveller to pass from island to island, going from exotic Sumatra to bustling Java to romantic Bali easily and inexpensively. Indonesia is, of course, one of the emrging powerhouses of Asia, but it is also one of the the great touristic destinations of the world. In addition to this map, ITMB also publishes maps of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Borneo, and Jakarta. This, in itself, indicates the importance of Indonesia.
