Rome, eternally popular as a travel destination, is comprehensively portrayed on this detailed map. Centred on the north-south Taverna River, the map encompasses all of Vatican City in the west to the main railway station in the east, and from the massive Basilica San Paulo Fuori in the south to the Olympic Stadium in the north. Naturally, all the famous Roman and medieval sites are shown, as well as a good selection of hotels, churches, museums, and theatres, including all of the preserved Roman remains. The second side concentrates on central Italy north of Rome, from Bologna/Ravenna south to Termoli, showing rail and road connections. The tiny enclave of San Marino is also included, as are several off-shore islands. This would be an excellent map to explore fabulous cities such as Siena. Florence, Pisa, or Rieti, or just to discover that Rome’s ocean port is actually at Civitavecchia, about 60 kms north of the city. This is where most cruise ships dock!
