Peru is one of the most-visited countries in South America. Lima is an ancient city that was the capital of an empire long before the Spanish arrived. This map covers most of Peru, from Chiclayo in the north to Mollendo in the south, and goes as far inland as Cuzco and Manchu Picchu in the east, so is perfect for most usage in the country. Side 2 concentrates on Lima itself, with an emphasis on the historical centre, but covering a much wider area to the east. Today’s Lima dates from the Spanish conquest, with straight streets in a grid pattern. The main sites are noted in our Top Attractions listing.
