Angola Travel Reference Map, 1st Edition, Scale 1:1,300,000 Angola is a fascinating mixture of ethnicity and wealth. It is still climbing out the morass of post-colonial rule, but is now as safe as any country for travelers. Its infrastructure, particularly its roads are of uneven quality, and we hope that this map will stimulate visitors to write us of their experiences with travelling through this vast country. We have tried to includes a decent inset of Luanda, the capital, and all areas designated as parkland. Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo & Central Africa 1:2M This is a really exciting map covers all of the Democratic Republic of Congo (The former Congo-Kinshasa, or Zaire), all of the People's Republic of the Congo (known as Congo-Brazzaville or French Congo), and the Central African Republic to the north. This is in reality a map of the vast rain forest known as the Congo River Basin, and matches our equally complicated map of Amazon River Basin and the Mekong, Mississippi/Missouri, Nile, and Mackenzie maps that we have published previously. A word of warming: the road network in the Congo is primitive - that means largely non-existent or in such poor condition as to wreck army trucks. We show the roads, and tried to classify the; by quality, but this is a 'work in progress' and I hope that this map will create sufficient feedback to improve this aspect of the map. For this edition, we have laid the ground work for developing more detailed selectional maps as the need arises. Naturally, one can purchase the maps singly, but this is a marvelous opportunity to pick up all 2 maps as a package for $21.95. The maps are packaged in a transparent plastic zip-lock sleeve and are available.
